Backup Overview

Information is important, and in the event that the important data becomes inaccessible because of a hard disk malfunction, we need to be able to restore from a security copy. Obviously, we do not want the backup to become an overkill, whereby time is taken up securing temporary or personal information.

To prevent an overkill, a selective copy to a blank CD will occur on the administration machine in the main office on a periodic basis, probably monthly. The only directories to be copied will be ECCP_Backup and the admin folder ECCP_Documents. Just before the copy, the 'C:\Documents and Settings\admin\My Documents\ECCP_Documents' folders on the other machines will be copied from each machine to a corresponding folder called c:\ECCP_Backup\<machine name> on the administration machine. The mail system will also be copied to  a security file within this folder. Then this folder will be copied to a CD.

Any interim backup or personal backups are your own responsibility.
